Ha! Find that set of lyrics :) actually I'll give it to you -- newish artist Robby Earle - Ruston kid and his EP is wonderful! Hoss and I both agree this is the best song. It's applicable right now because my Hoss is away for the weekend

Wow! It's been a week since our 6th anniversary and I can't believe the changes with each other.

Let's start from the beginning: Last week
We had our anniversary trip to see Robby and Grant Terry in BR. Fun times!!! We ate at TJ Ribs, stayed at a new to us hotel, and listened to some AWESOME music. I got to meet an high school buddy of Hoss's. Pretty cool guy. Friday was a little more interesting. See I have a habit of losing things especially in the past two years or so. It used to be a around the house habit -- keys mainly. Now it's keys in the store, grumpy bear in the hotel and we thought camera at the zoo.
We went to the BR Zoo and it was ok with an explosive end! Hoss got sooo mad at me because I couldn't find the camera after we left and we decided to just drive around. Ok I understand he had the right to be upset but it's not like I do it on purpose. Turns out, after driving BACK to the zoo and him looking, I was sitting on it. I swear I checked!!!

Anyways, we got back home Friday and went to my parents -- my oldest brother was in and wanted to play some NASCAR Wii. LOADS of fun there -- stayed there until 2. And Saturday was the wonderful birthday party. Seriously it was SOOO much fun! My brothers and I stayed inside for some of it and played Life on the Wii -- I totally won!!! and then all the kids and spouses went a played Phase 10 outside -- Hoss won and wondered why I kept skipping his sorry self! But I hadn't had this kind of fun in years -- I actually felt like a contemporary of my brothers and not a kid sister. And the party itself was fun too! Three 7 year olds and a 4 year old!

Anyways that was the weekend. And it's been pretty wonderful since. The occassional lost temper -- we work a lot. But exactly how it should have always been. Guess we finally got rid of the junk that got in between our relationship.

See Hoss and I tend to have a lot of traditional role reversals. But it normally works for us. I don't care about your relationship, don't bother mine is how I feel.
He most definately does NOT control me or tell me what to do, and I do my best not to come across that way because I don't control him. Our marriage is not about control, it's about respect. And it burns me up when someone makes a comment about telling me what to do or how THEY would NEVER be controlled by a WOMAN. That's a wonderful sign of a controlling jerk and I will not be subjected to that. And seriouslly if you want something from me, ask me not him.
People who think they know our relationship is in for a shock. I never controlled Hoss, we just let people think what they want to. Just like Hoss never asked me permission for stuff but always made it sound like he had to. People really can be naive when they have a prejudice against someone and I love living up (or down) to those standards, I get loads of laughs. Nope I'm not nice and make no apologies

First I want to say the above song is the SADDEST, most WONDERFUL Love song EVER!! Parachute totally beat out any country song (especially Don't Take the Girl) with this song. Hoss and I finally bought this CD (yes the actual CD not just iTunes) and I think I even started tearing up (Hoss was for sure =D)
It's already been a long week, so I'll make this one short and type a longer anniversary blog later (I have another good song for that)
Hoss's anniversary gift FINALLY came in!
Seriously, the horrible NOLA trip we took finally has turned around. One: what was lost has been found (shruken) Two: what was found has been bought and ready to hang.

So on the trip we found the wonderful artist who does work on slate and a brick look, when I finally got to walk around the square on that fun-filled trip. Hoss had seen the bulldog state and commissioned this one of kind work with permission from the graphic designer who designed the bulldog state (THANK YOU!)
Seriously check out Michael Dixon He's awesome and his LSU Fleur de Lis is AWESOME for being LSU.
And to make the NOLA trip even better, I lost my 20th anniversary edition Grumpy Bear that Hoss gave me one Christmas (well it had to have been our first Christmas together). I guess I left him but he's never been found. We joked that he was being held for ransom and my Hoss paid the ransom to get him back for me. Apparently Grumpy shrunk sometime in his hostage situation because he was much smaller than expected but who cares, he's back and in his proper place. I was actually going to retire him and my Curious George doll that traveled with us after that trip which it made it all the worse and the stupid hotel wouldn't say if they found him. So I'm hoping that some kid is taking good care of my Grumpy or they should return my real Grumpy though I love my new 'ittle Grump.

Whlep, it's almost time to start our anniversary weekend. And I'm supery excited about Hoss's gift! First: Baton Rouge tonight for a Grant Terry concert. Next: Baton Rouge Zoo?? eh, who knows what we will do tomorrow. Probably eat at TJ Ribs though! Saturday: Our actual anniversary!!! And a birthday party!!! Seriously, I'm so excited about this party for some reason. Maybe it's the Mario Kart theme -- what can I say I'm a kid and a nerd.
But finally: his last gift. Is this really neat customized piece of slate. That has the nifty LATech with state emblem on it painted by an incredible artist that we met in New Orleans: Michael Dixon. We have seen the preview of it and I'm ready to post a picture of it. Yep, I rock as a wife. I know :)
My gift was an AWESOME new ring -- actually an enhancer for my engagement ring -- would post a pic of that, but that would just make you jealous because I have a hubby who can't say no to me ;)
