So I'm at home watching my favorite -- Curious George on PBS and it's got me thinking. I want to start baking again. I'm bound and determined that I'm going to make a cake that tastes good and isn't heavy from scratch! None of this BS cake mix (that's a crappy cop-out and makes me mad when people pass it off as their own or even think I did it on my own) or even cake flour. We are talking real deal here. I can make cupcakes -- made red velvet once for Hoss's b-day (I LOVE HIM THAT MUCH!).
I guess once my second job goes back to normal I'll get back into my kitchen and bake again.
Hoss will you buy me a stool so I can read and bake at the same time, my feet hurt from standing and I lose track of time if I leave the room (hence why my cooking stinks half the time =D)
This was supposed to be a family blog about the newly Mc5's (We are now 5 people/puppies strong!) written by the 2 people: E-beth and Hoss. But it's becoming more of ramblings of E-beth's head.
Disclaimer: the only thing real in it, is the direct dealings of the family. If from E-beth only listen to the pictures. She ♥ her head and lives in it. Hoss is a journalist and has no fiction bone in his body :)

To Bret
Hoss,
Guess it's time to take this down. Everything I say on here go through a spin cycle and you refuse to contribute unless Iharrass bother nag whatever word you used. It's not worth it right now unless you are willing to participate. I can't get the mobile blogging right so I can't use pics that I take on my phone here. It's becoming a pain. So I guess this is another blog down the drain. And it was such a stinking cute name too.
Me, I'm going back into my head and away from everyone else's perception of my reality.
Ebeth

OK, OK; I'll contribute again
So Elizabeth has been pestering encouraging me to contribute to this blog, so much so that it hasn't gotten to the point where she's threatening to take away my posting priveleges. Yes, she takes this thing pretty seriously. Many times, I don't have a lot to say, at least not enough that it's blog-worthy. Usually, 140 characters at a time can suffice for me, so you can find me on Twitter (www.twitter.com/@b_hoss_mac).
But there have been a few changes around here, starting with the little guy who's beenharrassing hanging out with Sandy and Ryley for the past three weeks. It's hard to believe it's only been three weeks since Huck joined us. In a lot of ways it feels so much longer because he's been driving us crazy he's so quickly become a part of our family. He is a rascal, no doubt. He's athletic and slippery, and he'll bite your finger in an instant if he thinks it's a hot dog. But he's such a sweet dog, and I'm glad that we decided to have him join our family.
We've made some progress with the potty training, and I have to continually remind myself that he's still a puppy and it's only been three weeks (on Tuesday). For the most part, he's learned to use the doggy door and go outside, and honestly, he's having the doggy door has made things so much easier than when we had Sandy. He still has accidents. The past two nights we've had rain, so he pooped in the room rather than going outside. It's OK because the girls have done it too. And he'll have accidents in the house or on the bed when we don't pick up his signals quickly enough, though I will say he's done a better job in the past week or so of trying to let us know when he needs to go outside. Still, I don't like cleaning up urine or picking up poop, and I'm ready for him to be old enough where he can hold it longer or go outside all of the time.
But, I guess that's a small price to pay with the joys that come with raising a puppy. At least, it's a joy for us. His sisters? Well, that's another story. Let's just say those three keep things pretty interesting around here!

Party on!
So I've been in a pity party mood lately. Again, family is complete and wonderful but I have no life outside of it and work. So today is a new day of a new week and I'm tired of the pity. Who needs close friends! Who needs people who won't see the good in others (and I'm one of those people)... I'm moving on. Hoss keeps trying to tell me to be patient, resolution doesn't happen in days, but frankly I'm tired of all that junk. For my health, I can't keep wondering what's going to happen over it. So on to new and better...
But the dilema comes from, where do you find new friends in the town you grew up in? That's going to be hard for someone like me. Let's face it, I have issues and any one who knew me growing up doesn't necessarily want to be around me or I'm just too embarrassed over who I am. But I'm ready to start. If that means church again, well I'm sorry Hoss, we need to start going. I've tried giving Hoss his space concerning church and I'm willing to let him make the decision about where (since my choice blew up in our face!) but it's time to stop being lazy and put ourselves out there.
Today or tomorrow we are taking the pups on their first real walk together... if we can get up or Hoss make it home for 15 minutes.
Anyways beyond the pity party, it's time for some pool party! My nephew is going to turn 7 (seriously!!! Time has flown) in a few weeks. That would be the second of 3 to turn 7 and he's coming to P-ville to see Granny and Paw-Paw's pool. It was supposed to be a baseball party (YAY!!!) but now it's Mario Kart (yay!) I'm excited either way but baseball would have been beyond cool because of Hoss. But I can bring the Wii over and we can Mario Kart it all day beside the pool.
I LOVE SUMMER TIME!!
Seriously, give me Louisiana 1000 degree weather over any place snowy weather and I'm in hog heaven. Blame on being a summer baby but I'm ready for hot baseball, cool pools and everything in between that I associate with my summer.
And the b-day parties just keep coming in. After our anniversary and C's b-day comes T's b-day at the end of June, then the annual JABB (July, August Birthday Bash), then vacation and my B-day (the best day of the year for me, worst day for the world =D) There are more bdays in between but those are the main party times. Just thinking about it all moves me past the pity party. And this year I don't have to worry about no one showing up for my party because I'm not having one because I'll be on VACAY somewhere! Again I say, who needs friends!!!

Resolution
This is something that Hoss doesn't even understand about me at least. I can't stand to not have something resolved quickly. I've always understood to not go to bed angry so I've tried not to. I may hold a grudge but it's usually all out in the open. And it has been KILLING me to not have some things resolved. Over the past two + months some things have been going on and Hoss has to keep telling me to be patient, blah blah blah blah blah. But what he doesn't realize is that I know from experience, the more time has gone by before something is resolved the less it's going to end well. Think about it, literally you have more time to think about what happen and in your head blow it out of proportion (or make sense of everything). You have more time to play out scenarios that could happen and what you should say and just more time to stew. None of which is good.
He may hate it, but I refuse to sleep if I'm upset about something with him. I may say the wrong thing and lose a few hours of sleep but at least it's out there and usually resolved. If it's hurt feelings that's the worse! Leaving it unresolved over night, oh man, the anger you can feel with that, it's unbelievable.
Honestly, I can't remember if it's truly Biblical or just something Baptist love to say but the whole "never go to bed angry" is soo true.
Life for me has to be black or white in major deals. I can't cope with much gray so I make for quick and easy resolutions. For me, it is what it is - you can either chose to forgive and move on or chose to end it. Time doesn't heal in the short run and in the long run can do more damage.
So I get to sit at home with the pups and wait for resolution. I'm made the first move months ago, now it's time for others to move and at least give it closure or forward movement.

Week 1 of the Huckster
Hoss has taken to calling him that. Huck's such as rascal at the house. Peeing EVERYWHERE!!! A habit I'm set on reforming. Our girls are used to being out in the house and we can't trust him. Yes it's only been a week but it's hard when we hadn't been through this is in 3 years.
But he is a sweetie and soooo soft. We took him on a trip this weekend to meet his Gran. He was WONDERFUL!!! The girls travel well but he by far is the best. The Beast likes to ride in the front passenger seat (with or without someone in it) and Bexar loves to have her head out the window; Huck just lays there, moves every 5 secs but doesn't really try to drive or ride in the front so we aren't constantly fighting him off like The Beast.
I had been holding off on this post because I was hoping Hoss would finally post a post on the day Huck came for a visit. Hoss got him a day I was working so he got to do the play thing with him.
The Beast and Bexar have slowly taken to him. And we are working on spending individual time with each of them, The Beast especially.
I don't know about Hoss, but I can't imagine not having him!
Having our family now complete has gotten me thinking more on friends. Hoss has them, I don't anymore. As much as I try, I'm just not good with people. We had two couples that we did stuff with but now I'm not much liked for something that's not easily controlled. In one way it's ok, I prefer to be by myself; in another it's not -- everyone gets lonely eventually and it wasn't cool to show that side of me and see the true reactions of people to who I am. Because of this I've learned to be even more accepting of differences in people. I don't have to like the differences or even the person but to them I'm at least accepting. I've been practicing that every day at work with a temporary co-worker. She's more than likely not going to last at all but instead of cutting her out of her job and making work life miserable for her, I'm still treating her like a person.
I've personally been having a problem with hypocrisy lately. I chuckle to myself over a thought, Hoss and I are soo much alike. We both have much of the same religious beliefs especially in the idea of not having to be overly Christian. Is it really better to sit back and Praise God and how wonderful a Christian you are but treat people like dirt or only nice to the ones you want to be or in front of your other "Christian" friends, than be who you are good and bad but actually care about people in private and public?
**Updated 2 hours later** Reason #1 why I shouldn't blog at work: I forget my train of thought and don't finish. So the thought on the friends, yes I want some but I want those that can be trusted to stick with you through it all even when they don't want to, hurts don't matter because let's face: eventually I'm going to do something stupid. I have never claimed to be nice, in fact just the opposite but until it's seen people don't believe me. {Point in fact: friends A & B laughed when I would say it and say it's not true. Now I can't speak to them because they finally saw a portion of it} But it's hard to find these days. Hoss and I are at an age where everyone who is married is having kids. The pups are as close to kids as we plan to get. Then it's excepted for women to go off and chat about girly stuff and men to go off and do whatever. I tend to do better with men and I like to stick close to Hoss (he's my blankie). I'm not very domesticated and now I just don't want to invest in people (I'm scared). I don't care to shop or do crafts or anything. I'm a loner by design, but it would be nice to have someone to talk to about Hoss or the pups or the crazy thoughts in my head. Additonal disclosure: Just because we were friends doesn't mean it can't happen again. Surprisingly I can move on, but honesty and communication is a must!
