It's the greatest time of year

It really is and not because of Christmas at this point.
Last time I talked about having foudation work done to our house by company B... turns out it will be by company d for a fraction of company B's fraction :) And it will happen TOMORROW!!!!
Company B didn't show up when they said and didn't call until 2 hours later. Bye bye business!
I guess this weekend I'll finally put up the tree and decorate. I've been hestiant because of Huckabay. But I'm finding myself more and more in the Christmas mood so it's time.

I think a change...

Changes, changes, changes. I actually love them when expected and tolerate when unexpected.
First order of business: house! Looks like we are going to get our foundation fixed. It's more than I wanted to pay, less than what I expected but I totally understand why. We tried to go with the best but he told us for the one corner we had they were too expensive and I totally appreciate that. Some people take it as my business isn't enough but I take it as honesty and understanding. The guy he had call us was half the price but also had a min. Hey, I'm cool with that, they have to make a living and it's not like this is everday business. I'm sure we could find someplace cheaper but honestly, it's reasonable to us and so we're going with it. Plus I just want it done!
Also looking at something else house-related which means I'll be on edge until we have a yes or no.
Next! Jobs... interesting times. I've been thinking about updating that resume and looking but some other things have changed and maybe I won't have to do that just yet. Hoss's job is going through changes. Another quarter of furloughs (grrrrrr) but someone just left and that will mean changes but we have no idea what kind. Hopefully good news for Hoss.
Christmas plans have vaguely changed too. We had planned on just giving each other pots and pans and a dishwasher but LaTech made it to the Poinsettia Bowl so it looks like Hoss is getting shipped off to go! Me, I get to spend three lonely days with the pups because I have no time off aside from sick days and I just don't lie so I won't do that.
It's excited though, Tech doesn't get to go to many Bowl games and this one isn't just an hour away or in Idaho. We should have had a better season but we lost some games we could have won (or had won but gave it up in OT **grumble**).
Another change was Thanksgiving. We actually hosted it. Now, I didn't do the cooking but my house was clean and I worked on sides. And it was nice. My grandparents and parents came over and we just talked while waiting on Hoss to get home (no change there - working on a holiday =D) Mom took a picture of the table but it wasn't anything special in my opinion. And I still haven't decorated for Christmas, not sure when that's going to happen because it will mean Huckabay can't come out anymore -- no trust right there!.
There are a few other changes going on in our life but it's hush-hush for now since nothing's set yet but I'm super excited over it too :)

Tick Tock Tick Tock

OMG... I have a clock ticking very loudly in me. I'm antsy, grouchy, and emotional plus a ton of different adjectives.
Wonder what clock is ticking... probably not the one that most would think. It's my antsy I gotta do something clock or get outta here clock :)
I haven't done too many house projects lately and man I'm ready to go. Too bad what I want done I can't actually do because it's beyond decorating.
Up first: fix the one of the pillars of our foundation. If we were to ever move again, it's got to be done. Of all the complaints I heard when we tried years ago was the house felt like it was leaning. Well it is, so it's time to get it fixed.
Guess I'm just ready to move on, move past this and everything else. I'm also antsy with my job. I love it and what I do but ugh, it gets to me at time.
Basically, I ready for a change!
Tick, tock, tick, tock... it's time for change :)

It's beginning to look a lot like...

I know, it's early but I've been working on Christmas gifts for about two months now with my mom and it has me in the mood. Well somewhat.
Call me strange but I hate cold weather and most things associated with it. Halloween - whatever, Thanksgiving - shouldn't we be thankful at all times why the big production. But Christmas... now I love the commercial side of Christmas. As a believer shouldn't I be celebrating Christ's birth everyday and living it, plus I'm smart enough to know he wasn't born in Dec. so it's just a day.
But ahh, the joys of Christmas. My mother always made Christmas fun. It was about the birth yes but we still enjoyed the fun side of. She always loved giving and making things special and fun. To this day, I still have to go to her house Christmas Eve and spend the night or it's just not Christmas. The past few years though, I hadn't had the spirit. Too much personal drama and Hoss hasn't wanted to celebrate - blame it on getting laid off at Christmas time, we do!
Lately we've been working on the gifts for the families this year. And it's been surprisingly enjoyable. We've been working on homemade soap and candles. I'll have to post pictures later. And it's been interesting to see how two totally different people yet surprisingly similar people work together. I want to just do it by myself and move on, she over analyzes EVERYTHING and has no patience. But it's been a good experience and fun for us. Much better for me than the cake decorating.
Now all Hoss and I have to do is plan for the kiddos. I'm leaning towards only family but he seems to think he's going to purchase for some others, we'll just have to see what our Christmas Club account has to say about that **Shakes head no, not happening because I said so**
I've been quiet lately but so much has happened. Nothing major just peace.
Call it selfish or whatever, but it's been soo nice not to be "catering" to others anymore and their schedules and lives... always making the adjustments and travel arrangements. But that's just me right now :) We've had time to hang out with each other, work steadily, watch tons of TV, play with our wonderfully annoying pups, and hang out with family. Hoss still gets to hang out with some new friends and watch sports, I get to do a lot of reading or playing video games (computer mainly but I do have a 3DS).

I will remember you

Ok totally cheesy but you'll be alright.
I'm running behind on everything including work or so it feels.
So what two weekends ago we had my 10 year reunion. I didn't go to anything with Hoss' so I was stoked that he came to mine (I think he knew I wouldn't go without him). And it was a blast! Hoss was totally the life of the dance! And the family day was fun because of the kiddos and we got to see the new school though not much was different than what I remember when we opened the new school our senior year.
It was interesting though how somethings changed yet remained the same. I'm still me, just married to a nutcase you is way more outgoing. So here are some pics of my nutcase dancing it up. Yes they finally got me out there and I looked stupid... no literally stupid, I just stood there, like I know how to move especially to THAT song! haha!

Love of a jealous kind

Whew, worldwind weekend :)
But first! Two weekends ago we got to see Jars of Clay and The Newsboys.
It was interesting and yet disappointing.
Mainly disappointing by the number of people who came. It was for a wonderful cause - the Rapides Parish Habitat for Humanity. And second it was sponsored by some of the biggest churches in the area and they might have pulled in 1,000 people. Yes, I understand it was on a Friday -- high school football, and the price might have been steep but the churches should have bought them out. And I think $37.50 max $43 was not steep for both Jars of Clay and The Newsboys who command that on their own plus they had like 3 other acts.
Which brings me to the interesting part... The Newsboys. They were the headliners... eh, I would take Jars over them but that's just me. It was good and it reminded me why Christian concerts are so much better but I miss my Newsboys with Peter Furler (spelling?). Michael Tait is an awesome singer and if I didn't know a previous Newsboys, I probably would have loved it but there was barely any "Breakfast", no "Take Me to Your Leader" or "Step Up to the Microphone" or the funness that came with the old group. Well no not entirely true but it was different. But it had the glitz, glamour and wow effect that I was waiting for!
But my main event was Jars! I first saw them 15+ years ago in 7th grade at LC with PFR and FELL IN LOVE! And they totally brought me back to that. Their worship is throughout their music while still giving a concert and that's what most Christian artist strive for and miss (but it's understandable, it's a very fine line). They played a good mix of old and new and still rocked out to "Flood"
So here are some of my photos:

You won't find faith or hope...

Hoss has the Komen race right now... whoops he's actually done. So before we start our busy day today, time for an update.
Whew, it has been busy! Both at work and in our private lives. But a good busy.
First off -- The Script!!! LOVED IT and LOVED THEM! Still wished we could have gone to NOLA instead of Houston but whatever. I had seats (an awesome ones at that), got to eat and see the House of Blues and hear a wonderful band!
Here's some pics. Later I'll post about the next concert we went to!
Hot Chelle Rae

Yes I have more but I'm not posting them :)

Nothing I'll ever do will ever hold a candle to...

Eh, it partially works.
Welcome to fall in LA and the month of Oct. So I'm a day early... whatever I'm busy tomorrow.
Busy?? Oh yeah busy. Now I'm not a fan of fall in fact I can't stand any season but summer. Come on! I'm the girl whose comfort foods are chili and oatmeal with hot chocolate and I'll get that anytime I feel like it. But I can't stand cold weather. Bundling up is for fools. Who wants to be in LAYERS of clothes! Yep, I'm a summer bunny and proud of it.
But I'm actually looking forward to this Oct. because Hoss and I are EXTREMELY busy with wonderful fun things.
Starting with:
THE SCRIPT!!!! We are totally going to TX to see them tomorrow and I'm super excited. Only the best band to come out of th UK more specifically Ireland. Yep, I said it. The Best -- U2 whatever, Rolling who? and what Beatles. Ok so maybe not but I love them and I'm getting to see them. Yay me!
Next weekend it's totally Jars of Clay and The Newsboys. Which I hadn't seen Jars since I was in 7th grade and I'm intrigued by this new Newsboys group. Nothing like the old Aussie version that rocked with awesome lyrics and cooky funness but Michael Tate has a voice and we'll see.
That's Friday and Saturday my wonderful parent's are coming to clean up our yard. I hate yard work and mom loves it, so I'll pay her with lunch and supper.
The following weekend will be interesting. It's my 10 year high school reunion and I'm actually going. So after a high school football game, the next day holds a family day and a dance (WT!!! - I didn't even go to dances in high school and I totally could have done prom but I turned the guy down). I was torn between going because I'm not social but I finally decided it was almost worth the money but I didn't want to regret it.
Whew, busy yet? Oh and the Susan G. Komen race is Saturday morning. Not sure yet if I'm participating since we are only in Week 4 of the C25K and we don't have enough time to finish but Hoss will.
The 22nd is election which mean we will both be working for the paper to get that in and means an extremely long night for me since I won't start until 8 p.m. and might finish by 2 a.m. but I dig the money so I do the work.
And honestly, I don't know if we have any plans the last weekend but I'm sure we'll come up with something.
Gonna be busy but I'm looking forward to it :)

This one here goes out to the dogs

I guess it should be spelt Dawgs but I hate that almost as much as Geaux. Oh yeah, we rock :) LaTech has it's very own game day song. And it was done by our fave Ryan Moats!!! It's Gameday by Southern Experiment
It's been a busy Sept for us. Hoss has to gone to 3 Tech games in as many weeks. First was Hattiesburg during a TS which was a blast! Then the first home opener we took my nephew to his first real game and was even better and then last week Hoss went by himself to the Houston game and we lost poorly on that -- leading to lose by 1 point :(
I stayed home because it was mom's birthday and I wanted to spend time with them and my family and he went and saw his. It was a good weekend.
So here's a few pics from the last couple of weeks.

Should have seen that sunrise with your own eyes

As Hoss and I took another trip, I thought it was time to finally post some pics from our SA vacation. Because of TS Lee I didn't bring my camera on this trip and it was just to a football game with no sightseeing. Maybe next trip

Yep he loves me and won me another George :)

Happiness is not a fish

I really wanted to spell that with a y... but that's not the lyric
Anyways...
This weekend starts COLLEGE FOOTBALL! Yep, I'm excited. True, it means less time with my Hoss but it's not like I'm getting to see him much anyways. He's been covering a court case since last week and who would have thought a judge and lawyers would want to be in court until 6:30 on a Friday evening! And it's been like that all week, not to mention Jr. High Basketball has started back. Yay for $$ boo to no hubby. **Shocker: I love my husband and spending time with him** Oh and Madden's out along with NCAA 12. Hmm... we need better hobbies.
Our Sweet Mini-Beast turn 3 on Sunday -- she's all growed up but I'm hoping that Huck will keep her young. And that boy! Man he's gotten big :) He's as tall as MB and standing on his hind legs, taller! And he's only 8 months old. And he's constantly barking. Some days I want to rip that barker out!!!
But Hoss and I have talked about it and we think it's because he's not getting rid of all his energy and he just wants to play! Bexar is still Bexar.

This weekend we are H-burg bound for the first Tech game of the season :) I like college football but I'm still more excited about The Final Four tickets (yep still talking about that one). And next weekend we are going to Ruston for a home game with my oldest brother and most of his family. First college football game for his oldest :) Gonna be a fun time for sure.

Basically, life's been good to us for now. Things have leveled out and while something is still in the air we are getting by. I think we've found our real together time (though it pains me to say it -- literally, I'm in soo much pain!)
Still waiting on Hoss to contribute again. I love reading his personal writings or sports writings... not his government stuff (ZZZZZ...)

Only human after all

I'm human, I admit it. Shocking I know...Is it wrong that some days when I hear of certain people not having it easy, I just smile a smug-a grin? Probably but I do it anyway. Now it's nothing ever serious, I'm not that mean spirited but there are days when I hear that so-and-so is having a hard time with such-and-such that are little minor things in the grand scope of the world or when I hear that this was taking much longer than so-and-so thought (OMG! End of the world)... I just kind of smile. You know that smile -- the it's about time you understood that the world doesn't revolve around you and your issues and you are small in comparison... basically that Take That! smile.
Yes, I know, I'm not a nice person. But I do it anyway and don't feel guilt. And call it what you want. It's probably true. Some of it's jealously that they've never dealt with anything real (all kid glove, soft problems), some it of is just my hateful nature. I've never claimed to be any other way.
Oh yeah, did I mention we have 4 Final Four tickets to the last 3 games!!!! We rule :) and them others are JEALOUS :)
And no we don't have tickets in possession so I can't post them until Feb. It's gonna be a LONG wait :D

It's the greatest time of year

OMG!!! I'll let Hoss elaborate this post if he wants or at his blog but:
WE HAVE FINAL FOUR TICKETS!!! I ♥ basketball and the 2012 Final Four is in NOLA and we are sooo going there.
Who's excited!!!!!! ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY :)

You are always on my mind... always on my mind

I've constantly have stuff going on in my crazy head. No joke when we say, I live there. I'll have entire years fly by in my head in the day. And while I know it's not reality some days I wished it was.
Lately I've been more concerned with the budget. What can I say -- I'm the money person. And really, if you knew me, you would know it's nothing new. I've always been constantly tinkering with where we were going to pay for this and when we could pay this. Last week, I worked out a plan to get us back to one cc by Oct. Today, I've switched it up. Maybe it's the move on my brain, probably just the way I'm wired. Hoss started back with baskeball officiating and that brings in good $$ so I'm ready to get things settled so we can go back to the savings plan. It's simple when I can free up an additional $291 on top of the planned $250. If we could get the last cc paid that's almost every bit of our extra income saved. Yep we both work two jobs but not necessarily to pay the bills just to live comfortably and go places.
But I also think I'm in this $$ thing because of my job. I'm a loan officer for a small credit union and lately I've been working my tail off to try to make some loans come in. At the lastest board meeting, the bod agreed to allow us to provide an alternative to payday lending. So it's back to the drawing board for a new loan product setup. Got to get the docs decided on, the parameters set, marketing and naming. Everything -- we do it. Ok I do most of with my manager. And as a break, I look over my personal finances. Yep, I'm a nerd. I find the planning relaxing, implentation of my plan not so much.
But more importantly, I do it for one reason. To have something to talk to Hoss about during the day :) Nope not because I don't have other stuff going on but it's one of the only things I can talk about and I'm always trying to see what he's doing (and yep, he's sloooooooow to reply to me -- he knows the waiting kills me!!) What can I say, I'm hooked.
Anyways, guess I better think of something else to text him and maybe one day he'll come to visit me with beignets :)

This is the story of a girl...

hmm.. that would be a cute title for a blog. Oh well. I love stories. I love reading them, making them up in my head. I just wished I could write. Sadly, it is not my talent though I try with keeping up the blogs. And guess what -- I'm surrounded by writers!! My Hoss is a writer for a paper therefore co-workers are writers (did I mention I work there part time?), all his college buddies are, I think even some of my friends were at least communication majors. Me -- not a lick of any talent. I can come up with great play on words and one liners and in my head the story is fantastic but the reality is sadly lacking.
And if you hadn't noticed, I have one BIG problem -- I ramble and ramble and ramble. Most of the time, I say the same thing over and over and the same story. Hoss tunes me out a lot!
But my favoritest past time is reading. I love books. Big ones, small ones, picture books, even coloring books. And most different types though non-fiction, self help crap is yucky and extreme sci-fi I can do without but I'll give those a chance.
I'm trying to encourage Hoss to actually write one because he's a good writer in the sense you feel like you are there. Little ol' ladies who hate sports would come up to him and talk about his sports writing like they were there because they felt the game through him. He started a book once and got pretty far on it but it went MIA during a move so it's no more. But the book I'm looking for from him is a book about Huck. Nope not our Huckabay but his namesake -- Coach Huck. But Hoss's is just not quite ready yet and that's ok. The story is there just waiting to be developed when the time is right.

Like it's her birthday!!

Whoo hoo! My birthday and vacation were WONDERFUL!! First time I can say that in a long time. Not that my birthday's aren't always great but this one was just special. Why??? I don't know. NOTHING happened. But this vacation was soo relaxing and so good for both Hoss and me.
And of course we didn't hear the title of the post until the day after but it's cool -- I celebrate all month long!
I'll do a photo post later because I'm at work. But it was neat, we went shopping (got me a Vera Bradley purse [to replace one I can't use anymore] for $8.40! got our Christmas gift [maybe we'll use them since they cost a small fortune] and clothes shopping for me [Hoss loves to shop for me :)]), we went exploring and doing touristy stuff like Six Flags, the Zoo, the Botanical Gardens and Ripley's Believe It or Not! (which was LONG!!).
Let's think... we watched some soccer and sports and even a MOVIE!! I know, right... NEVER happens because I don't like movies. I can find better ways to spend my money than go see a movie but Regal does a $5 Tuesday so we spent twice as much on concession (because Hoss has to have it even though we just ate) and saw The Rise of the Planet of the Apes. That was a cool movie.
What else... oh my actually birthday gift was the new Nintendo 3DS... yay... ok so I'm not super excited about it. I wanted a DS yes but not the 3DS but Hoss talked to the wrong person about it (who actually if they cared about me knew I wouldn't want one and who else would Hoss be buying for... not so bright) and Hoss did his own research and decided it would be best. And he bought it for me right before they lowered the price (literally Aug. 10 b-day; Aug. 12 lowered the price **grumble....**) But it's cool; I looked it up, I should be getting 20 games free. I just have to check to make sure I qualified or then there will be some words going on.
But the 3DS isn't so bad, it's compatible with the regular DS games so it's worth it. And I finally got the new Zelda game. Though I could do without the 3D part of Zelda and the DS. It's why I didn't want it. Seems useless to me and it is unfortunately.
But I love what Hoss gave me because Hoss gave it to me. And no I'm not complaining just expressing that it was not what I wanted. But I love how he paid for it!! My two month hiatus on bill paying taught him something and he paid for it in cash from his officiating money as opposed to charging it like we would normally do. Yep, he's AWESOME!

On other news, the downside to the vacation was officially hearing that we aren't moving. Yes that's what I couldn't talk about. Hoss applied for a sweet position in Laffy and didn't get it (though he was the best for it and I'm soo not biased :D). We saw that coming the week before, but it still sucked to hear it.
We're ready to move on from the chapter in our lives. We're ready to start over elsewhere and find the friendships needed and the lives wanted and get out of this rut we are in. But He said not right now. There may still be some changes coming around the corner but no move in sight. And it's ok in another way -- we aren't financially ready to make a move and we've got our plan to be ready. So we'll see and keep our fingers crossed on the next prospect.

Vacation all I ever wanted

So I was hoping to have some exciting news for today's post but alas we are still waiting and hoping and wishing and praying. There will be news but we don't know what and when.
The end of today starts our vacation. Can I just say FINALLY!!! Now I thrive on stress but lately (and maybe it's my age) I can't handle it. We have our own issues, then someone else's, his job, my job, my second job, someone else's, our own, etc... I am beyond ready for this vacation.
So where are we going??? Back to Hades - no really it may not be named that but it sure is going to feel like it and it doesn't have the best memories for my family. Yes that would be San Antonio and New Braunfels Texas. First, I seriously hate Texas in general. I'm resigned to that eventually I'll live there but I will not be happy (I want the state boot kicking the texas star but Hoss won't let me do that). I'm sure it's got some great points but so far my luck with that hole has not been the best. Memorable yes but no good ones.
Maybe luck will change this time. Hoss lived in NB for 6 month before coming back to a better state (which ain't saying much) but never got to really experience the touristy stuff there aside from the Natural Cavern Bridge or whatever it's called.
Last year, we tried that stupid concept of a staycation. That's for idiots who can't budget or who live in big cities and hate travel. Not for this family and never again as far as I'm concerned. While I got work done around the house (ok I decorated our bedroom, but that was a LOT of sanding **grumbling stupid people who put stupid sandblasting finishes on walls**), it generally SUCKED! We like to experience new towns and cities... ok we like to go to sporting events mostly and maybe a concert and just drive around but whatever. So this year we are going on our vacation. True we are cutting it short. Instead of our traditional 7-8 days gone, we'll be back early but there is a reason that can't be talked about just yet because it may or may not happen. Otherwise we would be staying and just relaxing.
Granny is getting the pups and they will have more human playtime then they will know what to do with.
Oh and have I mentioned that Wednesday is THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR! Yep, my birthday and it will be just Hoss and me. No silly parties that no one likes besides me, no silly people. Just Hoss and me and soccer on TV... yep I get to watch soccer on my birthday because I just love soccer that much and wouldn't rather be shopping or watching a movie or driving around or finding ANYTHING else to do... Thank goodness it's a night game and now it makes sense why Hoss wouldn't cut our vacation on Wednesday like I wanted... hmmm... :D

Money, money, money always something

:) It's my life. No seriously, I deal with it all day long in some fashion mainly in doing loans. And I love it -- well not money itself but working with it. As my boss says -- Numbers don't lie. I add but people manipulate them :)
But about 2 months ago, I had had enough of doing our finances. I mean really, I did them for 5 years with no help from hubby (and it was fine) but then I just couldn't. I couldn't take the stress anymore of making the bills work. So I gave up control :) But after constant reminding him to balance the checkbook, I think I'm going to have to take it back. I spent much of this morning redoing the checkbook because we were terribly off (Thank God not enough to overdraw us -- that's a no-no when it's where you work). Actually I'm not doing fixing it because I'm still 20 cents off in our favor though and honestly, I can't say that I'm going to seriously look for it.
But I've been proud of Hoss, I got to spend 2 months blowing through the money while he calmly said whether I could or not and we never went without and the bills got paid on time (ok well that's to online banking but whatever!) And I believe I finally got it through to him that in one area we spend WAY TOO MUCH! Still hasn't stopped us but he is more aware and maybe we can work on it together as opposed to one stresses.
In other news, some big changes might be ahead for us. It's amazing how much we change our perspectives in such a little amount of time. I actually hope it comes through in some fashion. It's time and we are semi-ready for it.

Been a long time comin'

Been a while. We've been busy and lazy at the same time. Yep Ox and Moron.
So this one is going to be a mainly picture post about what we've been up to!

My decorating class:
My first cake I decorated

Shocker -- my final project

Did I ever show you the slate hanging up? Well here it is if I didn't:

Let's see we had a couple of nephews' b-day parties but no pix there because they aren't my kids.

oh Got the new and WONDERFUL king size bed! Seriously, never slept better and everyone can sleep on it. Yep that's right Me, Hoss, our 50+ lbs Mini-Beast; 16ish lbs Bexar and 36+ lbs Puck (apparently yesterday PetSmart thought that's what Huckabay was called so I'm rolling with it). And the bed looks wonderful in the room. See!

And yes our room is dark and it's for a reason and I ♥ it!

Anyways last but definately not least we puppy-sat ROXY! My brother's little pup. I tried to get pictures of her but she's too quick but here are some from the trip to see how much Huckabay has grown! At almost 6 mos he's almost as tall our the Beast and he might take the name!

Happy Beast!
See! Almost as tall

No hair for my hairbrush

ok I'll admit it. I'm an ox and a moron and for the slow people that would be an oxymoron. No seriously. I'm a loan officer but hate debt. I love to read but SUCK at grammar and writing. And my personal favorite -- can sing and play piano but have no rhythym! Mom never could understand that but it's true.
But the one I'm struggling with now is my hair. I love my hair but hate doing anything with it. I hate cutting it so I'll wear it pulled back, love to experiment with color but I love my natural hair color. But tomorrow is my day. I get paid and I'm going for broke.
I'm looking to get a pixie-style hair cut (or as just really short) and dye it probably a dark auburn. OMG! I'm gonna freak but I've been waiting to do this forever.
I wonder... Hoss will you come with me and hold my hand ;)
I struggle with hair, I'm not any good with it. I can't get it to curl or straighten. and OMG it is THICK! Which sounds all fine and dandy but not in the hot louisiana weather. But the problem with short is well I'm fat and so is my face and I feel it makes it look worse but I'm just gonna do it. But I also don't care about my hair. It's hair, it will grow back!
So tomorrow - here goes everything!

The first cut is the deepest

For people who know me they know that I am naturally lazy. I wouldn't work if I didn't HAVE to (well at first I wouldn't), I get out of cleaning and cooking as much as I can and I HATE HATE HATE anything that resembles exercising.
The other day I was talking with my boss and she was talking about her husband and insurance and other stuff and I finally figured out part of my lack of motivation for weight loss. Last year around this time, I went through a big push to lose the 70+ lbs I gained since I met and married Hoss. Even kept a blog but I didn't see or feel any real results.
But I have figured out more of my reasons.
1: It doesn't matter! My hubby loves me no matter what size I am YAY for HOSS!

2: It doesn't matter! At 23 I was diagnosed with HBP, doc even told me if I lost all the weight I would still be on the meds. So why should I??

3: It's true, you can't do it without a buddy. And since I don't care for people and they most definately don't care for me - I gots no buddies. :( I kept the blog for someone I thought would be a buddy but there was a distinct lack of connection. Maybe it was time, maybe it was distance, maybe it was just a lack of buddiness. Who knows, who cares anymore - it didn't work.

4: No support. Again it's a double-edged sword, Hoss loves me no matter what which also means he doesn't push me and Mom pushes the wrong buttons.

5: Bribes didn't work so what's the motivation! The scale doesn't motivate me to lose it (and it was a scary number today!) I tried bribing myself but that didn't work. Maybe Hoss should do the bribing??? Whatcha think Hoss? $$ for sustained weightloss or books, well e-books since I have to go electronically because we have a dog that loves books more than I do :) (Dang Huckabay!!!)

6. I get depressed easily. No I know it's not a quick fix but something ALWAYS throughs me off and usually it depresses me and makes me not care even more about the problem. Usually it's a lack of dropage on the scales or more often in the feel of clothes or growth in top (because that soo needs to happen)

So that's my problem. After Hoss told me he could tell I had gained back the weight I had lost plus, I stepped on the scale today just to see. It was interesting. And I might start my journey over, maybe look for a local buddy if Hoss won't stay with it :)

Anyone want a buddy??????

You're the bird...

So Hoss got me looking at Tumblr. Seriously, I'm not sure what to think of it. But it might be a new avenue for my thoughts that some snoopers can't see. Oh heck, like I care about them. But I was thinking maybe for a guilty pleasure of mine and my opinion of books. I love books, I read tons of stuff mostly what Hoss doesn't like me to read :) Somedays I hate living in the Baptist South.
So we'll see what happens, I may not even use it that much.

But OMG we have a new friend for the week. ROXY! My brother's dog. He and his wife went on a vacay and needed a sitter for her. She's a sweet little dachsund (spelling?) and Huck loves her! The Mini-Beast and Bexar are more indifferent than anything else. So it's going to be an interesting week!

Life goes on...

Yeah I stopped putting the notes on. No reason - just don't feel like it but it's still a song :)
It's still be an interesting month with not much to say. Surprisingly quite uneventful in our immediate life. Yay!! I can only take stupidity so long before my health starts to get effected (Correct effect, Hoss?) Saturday we up to Monroe Saturday for another fun 7 year old b-day party. I don't know what it is but my brothers are treating me like I'm a real person. Not just the kid sister and it's wonderful!
And then it was on to Ruston for some USA soccer!!!! I ♥ soccer. Always have, always will. My best friend got me hooked in 4th grade with whichever World Cup was going on. Still don't understand those silly Americans who think it's stupid because you can tie and it's "low" scoring. Stupid people -- these guys run for 45 minutes straight twice!!! More of an athlete than most of those football players will EVER be.
Anyways. It's been nice lately. No worries about making others happy and how they take things, no serious scares over the jobs (though G just laid off 2 at Hoss's workplace). Just plenty of good times between Hoss and I with our pups and family.
But I'm bored. I'm tired of not having anything to talk about on here. So Hoss, what can I blog about or anyone really. Series ideas?? And yes I know somebody(ies) beside Hoss reads this I check the stats (even have a few ideas as to who cuz I'm smarter than the average bexar!) So someone, ANYBODY FIND ME... something to write about.

Hey Hoss, remember our conversation yesterday about writing. Totally started this with the title and it applied to what I was thinking about saying at the time and it ended up being NOTHING like I thought. Fun times!

♫ just one of those things ♫

It's been a weird kind of week. Nothing really to say lately. You know it's one thing for me to have nothing to blog about but it's been hard lately to even come up with tweets or fb status updates and I've noticed Hoss has had the same problem.
Yep, it's been a weird kind of week.
Don't get me wrong, stuff has been going on but nothing that bares repeating. One of my last blogs talked about music being so important to me but I can't even come up with a song for this blog. Guess it's because the second job's work has finally slowed down so I've slowed down. Now on to housework! (yeah right)

On another ♫ (hehehe, I'm soo clever), it looks like we are finally upgrading. My grandparents are looking to get rid of their king size bed and looks like we are in line to get it! YAY!!! A bed that I don't have to get a running start to leap into and one that's big enough of all 5 of us. Yes, all FIVE. Something I swore would never happen! No pups on the bed lasted all of one month with the Beast. But the usually don't sleep with us because I can't move with them on the bed. And oh man, the mattress is gonna be wonderful! It's soo firm and even has a pillowtop to make Hoss happy.
The bed itself is ok. Not quite my style but it will look wonderful in my room -- the dark iron. And about three sets of bedding, which I know won't be my style but it will be free or relatively free so I won't complain until we have the $$ to replace (Christmas anyone???) Now it's a matter of setting up some men to help load and unload it for us in a timely manner. **Hoping for July 9**

Oh and I hung up a curtain over my front door. It took FOREVER to find the right curtain and it totally went through the door. Our front door is slightly smaller in depth than most so now I get to fix that but I'm gonna wait until it's cooler. And yep I think my black thumb has kicked. Most of my flowers are looking pretty bad -- I've been forgetting to water again. I'll just keep trying.

♫You've created nothing♫

Can you tell I have a love affair with music? Life is a musical might as well find the background music to it.
I hate hate hate crafts. Country chic -- worst design fad EVER! (But the Bath and Body scent is pretty good) There is nothing chic about country arts and crafts, homemade junk. Trust me, it looks cheap. Spray painting something another color -- not really crafts either.
Wood work and metal work, eh, I can handle that more. And a true artist work on canvas or slate or a real medium with a professional frame - neat.
But the junk I've seen lately that people think it "wonderful" -- gag me.
There are true artisans and craftsmen that I can appreciate most work. But the home person, don't bother.
That being said, my mother signed me up for a cake decorating class. **hangs head** I said yes because it could be a mother daughter thing for us and it involves baking and decorating which I can totally handle. Thank God it is only semi-crafty or I would die.
We had the first class Tuesday. It was ok. Saturday was practice day for us though. First time to make a buttercream icing -- yikes! Everything I have ever learned about baking I have apparently forgotten. Cream -- what does cream look like? First batch was not good, but mom looked over my shoulder for the most part on the second and it came out perfectly (I'm a fast learner) so my third it wonderfully. Then it was all about icing my cakes. Eh, I can do without the tip for icing. Just give me the spatula because that's what I'm used to, but I tried the tip. The second and third batches iced so we are good there. Now it all about the stars (first thing we "learned"), so I practiced a few and then told mom to practice! What! She was just watching me. nope scratch that, she was talking on the phone.
So now it's Sunday and back to mom's to really make something with a star tip.
Here are the results of Sunday's practice: which one is mine???

♪ Oh my love look how you shine... The moon that you see may be different from mine ♪

Ha! Find that set of lyrics :) actually I'll give it to you -- newish artist Robby Earle - Ruston kid and his EP is wonderful! Hoss and I both agree this is the best song. It's applicable right now because my Hoss is away for the weekend

Wow! It's been a week since our 6th anniversary and I can't believe the changes with each other.

Let's start from the beginning: Last week
We had our anniversary trip to see Robby and Grant Terry in BR. Fun times!!! We ate at TJ Ribs, stayed at a new to us hotel, and listened to some AWESOME music. I got to meet an high school buddy of Hoss's. Pretty cool guy. Friday was a little more interesting. See I have a habit of losing things especially in the past two years or so. It used to be a around the house habit -- keys mainly. Now it's keys in the store, grumpy bear in the hotel and we thought camera at the zoo.
We went to the BR Zoo and it was ok with an explosive end! Hoss got sooo mad at me because I couldn't find the camera after we left and we decided to just drive around. Ok I understand he had the right to be upset but it's not like I do it on purpose. Turns out, after driving BACK to the zoo and him looking, I was sitting on it. I swear I checked!!!
Us before the camera went missing :)
Anyways, we got back home Friday and went to my parents -- my oldest brother was in and wanted to play some NASCAR Wii. LOADS of fun there -- stayed there until 2. And Saturday was the wonderful birthday party. Seriously it was SOOO much fun! My brothers and I stayed inside for some of it and played Life on the Wii -- I totally won!!! and then all the kids and spouses went a played Phase 10 outside -- Hoss won and wondered why I kept skipping his sorry self! But I hadn't had this kind of fun in years -- I actually felt like a contemporary of my brothers and not a kid sister. And the party itself was fun too! Three 7 year olds and a 4 year old!

Anyways that was the weekend. And it's been pretty wonderful since. The occassional lost temper -- we work a lot. But exactly how it should have always been. Guess we finally got rid of the junk that got in between our relationship.

**Steps on Soapbox**
See Hoss and I tend to have a lot of traditional role reversals. But it normally works for us. I don't care about your relationship, don't bother mine is how I feel.
He most definately does NOT control me or tell me what to do, and I do my best not to come across that way because I don't control him. Our marriage is not about control, it's about respect. And it burns me up when someone makes a comment about telling me what to do or how THEY would NEVER be controlled by a WOMAN. That's a wonderful sign of a controlling jerk and I will not be subjected to that. And seriouslly if you want something from me, ask me not him.
People who think they know our relationship is in for a shock. I never controlled Hoss, we just let people think what they want to. Just like Hoss never asked me permission for stuff but always made it sound like he had to. People really can be naive when they have a prejudice against someone and I love living up (or down) to those standards, I get loads of laughs. Nope I'm not nice and make no apologies
**Steps off**
