You are just sooo funny, punk :)
But yes it's hard to correlate our schedules so we have "me" time, "we" time and "fun" time. But Hoss, I think we are getting better at.
**Hoss, feel free to edit anything AFTER this point**
So I don't know about Hoss but lately I've had religion and beliefs on my mind.
We both are Christians and have decent foundations in that belief system. But I'll be the first to admit, I am not a good one in Southern Baptist terms and probably any demoninations. But I know what I believe and the basics are there. I first choose not to shove it down people's throats, I'm not going to change your beliefs by words -- it doesn't work. Second, I've just got issues with somethings and circumstances in our lives have made me at least wonder what's right and wrong and up and down. Ya know? But again the basics are there -- Jesus is God, God is love, he died for me and everyone else, and he's always there for me. Simplistic? yeah but it works for me.
So first random religion thing: seriously someone wrote to our letters to the editor and said that aborted babies are worshipping SATAN! OK so you are pro-life, great your belief is fine with me. But WOW! I thought there was an age of innocence before we learn about wrongs and what about the sins of the father (and mother) not bearing on the child. BLEW MY MIND!
Second: seriously, after years of struggle, I finally feel like we have gotten somethings finally together -- total blessing from God. We've managed to stay afloat and keep the $$ together and frankly just stay together. So the thought is how do you repay this. We don't go to church anymore for different reasons and all valid. Those who know us know the main reason -- the previous church debacle. And I would go to church but I refuse to force Hoss at this time. There really isn't a church I want to go to here and where I know we could serve -- are we ready to go back to serving. But I know when he's ready, he'll take control and go. And we both agree on not going separately, we are a family and we only stay strong together.
And that brings me to the news (no literally the paper), if we go back to church, how do you get involved when one feels lead to youth and you see abuse coming out in the news concerning ministers/helpers. Seriously, after a certain age, it is creepy for a person to hang out with kids when they have none. And since we don't plan to have kids... in a day in age where accusation will always run rampant when (1) they are true (2) someone sees $$ (3) some kid lies to save their skin -- and as long as there is selfiness it's going to happen.
This was supposed to be a family blog about the newly Mc5's (We are now 5 people/puppies strong!) written by the 2 people: E-beth and Hoss. But it's becoming more of ramblings of E-beth's head.
Disclaimer: the only thing real in it, is the direct dealings of the family. If from E-beth only listen to the pictures. She ♥ her head and lives in it. Hoss is a journalist and has no fiction bone in his body :)

OK, OK, I'll contribute
So, since E-beth has threatened to banish me as a contributor to this blog if I don't post, here goes. This is my contribution to our little family blog. It's funny -- and scary sometimes -- to think about how quickly life passes us by. I mean, it's almost April already?!? E-beth and I are so busy, it seems. She works. I work. She comes home and works some more. I'm officiating usually three or more times per week (this week, I committed to doing an elementary basketball tournament, so I've been out after 9 every night; it'll be after 10 the next two nights). We're so busy that we don't have too much time to spend together or with our pups. However, that hectic lifestyle does make our time together that much sweeter. Don't get me wrong; it's not like we're actually interesting people. The majority of our time together is spent eating and sitting in the living room, trying to keep up with the plethora of shows that TiVo is grabbing for us each night while we're so busy working. Lately, I've been grabbing lunch a lot and taking it up to E-beth's work (she doesn't get to actually take a lunch break). With the running around to pick up food, and trying to run home to get my officiating gear together, it doesn't leave a whole lot of time in my hour break, but it's good to have a few minutes to sit together and talk about how our day's been and what's on the horizon. I've come to appreciate our time together much more now that we're so busy. That's all I have to say right now; hopefully, it's enough to keep me on the blog contribution list a little while longer!

Spring cleaning...
of my closet. I finally, finally went through my clothes this afternoon. Now I just need to beg Hoss to organize. His is AWESOME!! Mine sucks. Seriously, Hoss's might as well be color coordinated by style -- pants, shirts, sweaters. Seriously awesome for this dude who doesn't organize much else. So I need help -- I can barely keep my clothes in the closet much less organized. But after this closet there is another one in the George room and then maybe the closets will be done. I'm finally taking mom's advice and taking the small steps to get the big job done.
Seriously, I'm trying here to work on things for the better. Attitude, house, small projects. Everyone has a turning point and in my case multiple times. But as I told Hoss, Huck completes our family. and now we need to work on getting it straight.
OMG fun stuff here -- I had to order some of my meds (actually all 3) the other day. One normally cost me $125 and my order yesterday was $125 for all. AWESOME!! the most expensive went down to $80, another went up $20 and the third went up a dollar or so, but seriously isn't that wonderful! We keep hoping for a break in life and while it can go south easily, maybe it's finally come for a short while.
Oh and my work has finally picked up!! but not enough yet to make a difference so work is still up in the air as to what will really happen. It's a frustrating time for most of us but I know it will all work out in the end, it always does.

dishes
This family HATES dishes! At any given time you will find a STACK of dishes from 1 day to as long as what a month (at least 3 weeks, Hoss, for sure). So all Hoss asked for Christmas was a house with a dishwasher. Ask and you shall receive??
So mom and I have for 5 years looked at portable dishwashers but never bought one -- EXPENSIVE for a portable one. So no portable washer. I told Mr. Hoss about this and he kind of scoffed at the idea! Seriously, I can't buy you a new house but I can buy a stupid dishwasher.
We were at Lowe's yesterday with to look to see if they had any flooring for the pups' room. NO go there but we looked at dishwashers. Now, I knew they had no portable dishwashers there but man we could have asked questions about them. Anyways, he still wasn't "sold" on the portable. So I "nicely" told him, either find a portable by December or wash those dishes correctly! And he had until June to make up his mind as to which. Hehe, people, it was wonderful! As soon as we got home, he looked up the washers!!!! Found one that he actually liked for less than $200 on Amazon. I found a slightly bigger one for $80 more. So we'll see and save up for it. And he'll have his dishwasher by Christmas, and I'll have clean dishes on a regular basis!! Win-Win Hoss!
LOVE YOU!!! HAHAHA!!!

Vacation Planning
It's vacation time for this fun family. Well it'll be in August unless we can't find anything in the ranger we are looking for for the week of my birthday.
Talking about going to San Antonio. We've tried for a couple of years but it's never worked out. Hoss lived in the Hill Country but never got to experience what goes on there in terms of tourism. So I've been wanting to take him back to have fun not work at the hole he was in :)
But my birthday is in August which is the height of all travel time for the summer so it makes it harder to use my parents' timeshare. So now we are looking at places like Home Away to find a place to stay other than a hotel.
And of course we may change our mind about where we are going. We've already talked and planned for Philly but changed our mind. Probably why we make last minute plans and who knows what Hoss's work will do in terms of training so it may change and do something like last year -- Omaha by way of Nashville!!
Fun times, we love travel time! Just hate leaving our sweet pups and will be even hard with a real puppy :)
Whatcha think Hoss -- what do you want to do since our vacations usually go around that??

It's Tool Time!
So mom and I bought the flowers for the two new flower beds for the front yard and the filler for the first two beds put in last year. Hopefully in the next two weeks, the beds will be put in with the flowers. I'm sooo excited and I don't like gardening but I think it's gonna be real nice and easy for me to maintain.
Next project -- we got an estimate on what the flooring would cost. DANG SON!!! It's twice as much as I thought it would be but still within reason I guess. One estimate was over $500!!!! Not for my dogs' room. The second was right under $300 which is probably what we will go with. We had figured it to be around $150 but after talking with my parents and the flooring guy, I think it would be better to go with a more durable for dog urine or what not.
Can't wait to post the pics of the room and flower beds!!!
Only 5ish more weeks till we get Huck!!!!!! **cross fingers that the rooms and beds are done by then**

Baby Huckabay
Oh, he's such a sweet pup and a rascal. When I went to get the pic, he was missing. He had gotten out and the night help had moved him to another cage. FREAK OUT from the workers. But it was all good for me, I'm patient and I understood. Stuff happens that's no one's fault and you roll with it.
Can NOT wait until May 3 when we can pick him up for good. And other other babies are sooo upset. They literally sniffed me for 2 minutes and walked away!!

New online life
I decided to start a family blog for us Mc's. New things are coming, major changes have been made.
First things, we are adding a new member May 3. So there will be me, Hoss, The Beast, Bexar and our newbie whom we are going to call Huckabay but nickname I'm sure will be coming like our girls. Our first little boy and tomorrow I'll have a picture to show. I'm so excited!!!
Who would have thought that I would have 3 puppies. For what 4 years, I said no to dogs and now I picked out Ryley and somewhat pressured him for Huck.
Other changes, life in general. We struggle a lot together, I'm too big of a loner to handle people for long times (that's more than 5 minutes) and Hoss is beyond outgoing when he wants to be. So I feel after some incidents that we are going to be forced to focus more on the real family and less on the friends we considered family -- turns out they really aren't family -- go figure! But that's going to mean huge changes for us. We have always focused less on us, our needs, wants and desires and more on our second family. Now the second family has had some changes come about so it was going to change to begin with so it's all good (or at least Hoss keeps trying to remind himself =D)
We will also be updating a few things with our house. Finally finishing up the locks/door knobs in the house. The flooring in the pups room and putting in two more flower beds in the front yard and losing more grass in the back :) I wouldn't mind doing more but I asked for only $300 in tax money to do it so I'll stick to my budget. I want a new hot water heater and our AC/Heating looked at, a portable dishwasher, new doors, windows, siding, eventually the plumbing needs to be updated not to mention finishing up the electrical. But all in due time. We will just slowly save up and work towards what we need to make it more saleable when the time comes.
On that note, nope we aren't looking at moving anytime soon -- as mom says I just got the house mostly unpacked!! Can't repack all that crap :)
